This aquatint presents a detailed northeast-facing view from Mount Avasaksa, showing glacial valleys, sparse vegetation, and the tranquil desolation of the Arctic landscape.

Anders Fredrik Skjöldebrand (1757–1834) was a Swedish count, statesman, and artist. Known for his expedition to northern Scandinavia in the late 18th century, he documented landscapes and cultural scenes through engravings and aquatints. His work Voyage pittoresque au Cap Nord remains a landmark in early Nordic travel illustration and Romantic-era topographical printmaking.
