10 Jacques-Nicolas Bellin (1703–1772) – Map of Khwarezm, Turkestan, and Great Bukhara – Copper Engraving (Circa 1749)

This historical geographical map charts the vast landlocked region of Central Asia, encompassing the territories of Khwarezm, Turkestan, and Great Bukhara. The map vividly depicts the Caspian Sea, the Aral Sea (Mer de Karazm), and the complex network of rivers, mountains, and caravan routes across the region, including parts of modern-day Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Iran. The cartouche highlights that the map's geographical data was compiled from English sources. This detailed map was published as a geographical supplement in the exhaustive French compendium, the Histoire Générale des Voyages.
