The technical nature is a hand-coloured etching. It was published in the Botanical Magazine, which was printed in London by T. Curtis at St. Geo. Crescent. William Curtis was an English botanist and entomologist who served as the demonstrator of plants at the Chelsea Physic Garden and founded the London Botanic Garden. His primary contribution was the establishment of the Botanical Magazine in 1787, which combined high-quality hand-coloured plates with detailed scientific descriptions. He worked with talented artists like Sydenham Edwards to ensure the highest degree of accuracy and beauty in his publications.
