Sic Leo, Taurus, Equus, facileque, in bella Molossi. The engraving depicts an intense confrontation within a walled enclosure. A bull, a lion, and a horse are the central figures, surrounded by several hounds. Spheres are placed on the ground in the foreground. The work is part of the series Venationes Ferarum, Avium, Piscium, which documents various hunting scenes and exotic animal encounters. It was published in the late sixteenth century.

Johannes Stradanus was a Flemish artist who spent the majority of his career in Florence, Italy, working under the patronage of the Medici family. He was a prominent figure in the late Mannerist style, known for his intricate designs for tapestries and extensive series of engravings. His work frequently explored themes of hunting, natural history, and mythology with a focus on dynamic movement and narrative detail. He served as a bridge between Northern European artistic traditions and the Italian Renaissance aesthetic.
