Rigobert Bonne was a significant French cartographer of the Enlightenment who served as the Royal Cartographer to the French Hydrographic Office of the Navy. His maps were highly regarded for their precision in coastal delineations and river systems. His extensive body of work became a standard for naval navigation and geographical study during the late 18th century.
