"Solanaceae Bartl." This hand-coloured engraving presents a comprehensive botanical analysis of the Solanaceae family, commonly known as nightshades. The composition features a central primary illustration of the plant's foliage and flowering stems, surrounded by numerous detailed dissections of floral organs, seeds, and fruit structures. Several elements, including a prominent five-petaled flower and a ripe berry, are enhanced with delicate hand-colouring in green, yellow, and deep red to highlight specific anatomical features. This work was published in Erlangen as part of the Iconographia Familiarum Naturalium Regni Vegetabilis. The plate serves as a scientific record of mid-nineteenth-century taxonomic classification, providing a clear visual guide to the reproductive characteristics that define this diverse plant family.

Adalbert Schnizlein was a prominent German botanist and pharmacist celebrated for his monumental contributions to plant iconography and systematics.
