"Costantinopol Turkey" depicts the ornate Fountain of Ahmed III, a prominent example of Ottoman Rococo architecture located near the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. The work illustrates the fountain's distinctive wide overhanging eaves, decorative tiling, and central dome, with various figures in traditional dress and a horse-drawn carriage populating the foreground. This hand-coloured copper engraving was published in the Bilderbuch fur Kinder, a landmark multi-volume educational series printed in Weimar.

Friedrich Justin Bertuch was a prominent German publisher and man of letters who established the Weimar Industry and Literature Bureau. He is best known for creating high-quality illustrated pedagogical works that aimed to provide children with a comprehensive understanding of world geography, natural history, and diverse cultures. His encyclopedia was a revolutionary achievement in Enlightenment-era publishing and remained a standard reference for decades.
