Friedrich Johann Justin Bertuch was an influential German publisher, writer, and cultural figure known for his central role in Weimar Classicism. He founded the Landes-Industrie-Comptoir, a publishing house that employed numerous artists and engravers. His most enduring contribution is the Bilderbuch für Kinder, an ambitious illustrated educational work that became one of the most widely distributed and celebrated children's encyclopedias of the Enlightenment era.
