"De Ambachts-Heerlykheyt Dorp en Heeren-Huys van Oost-Cappelle" depicts a panoramic view of the village and the manor house. The engraving illustrates the layout of the town, including its central church, surrounding agricultural plots, and tree-lined avenues. This work is a copper engraving from the Nieuwe Chronyk van Zeeland, published in Middelburg in 1696. Mattheus Smallegange was a Dutch historian and genealogist. He is best known for his comprehensive chronicles of the province of Zeeland. His work included detailed descriptions and visual records of the region's topography and urban development. He significantly contributed to the historiography of the Netherlands through his cartographic and narrative documentation.
