10840 Frederick Nodder (active 1770–1800) – Great Locust – Engraving (1806)

Frederick Nodder (active 1770–1800) was a renowned British artist and engraver who held the prestigious position of Botanic Painter to Queen Charlotte. He is best known for his extensive collaboration with the naturalist George Shaw, providing hundreds of high-quality illustrations for multi-volume surveys of the animal kingdom. Nodder's work is characterized by a high degree of scientific accuracy and formal elegance, making him one of the most significant natural history illustrators of the Georgian era.
