This copperplate engraving is a composite plate detailing various aspects of ancient architecture and culture. The upper section features two monumental pyramids and an architectural cross-section. Jan Goeree was a Dutch draftsman, engraver, and poet. He contributed engravings and illustrations to various literary and historical publications in the early 18th century, specializing in detailed topographical and portraiture subjects, often related to classical antiquity and Dutch history.
