illustrating the siege of the fortification by military forces in 1566. The illustration details the castle's defenses, surrounding topography, and the river system. The print, a later addition to the Cosmographia, provides a contemporary record of warfare and fortification architecture in the border regions of Eastern Europe.

Sebastian Münster was a German cartographer, cosmographer, and Hebrew scholar who was one of the most influential German scholars of the Renaissance. He is best known for his Cosmographia, which was the earliest German-language description of the world and one of the most widely circulated books of the 16th century. His works were instrumental in disseminating geographical knowledge and Renaissance ideals across Europe.
